Armenian Blackberry, also known as Himalayan Blackberry (Rubus Armeniacus [Rubus Discolor]) is a perennial viney shrub in the Rose Family (Rosaceae). It’s native to Armenia and Iran, blooms May-Jul and grows 10-30 ft. It tolerates moist to dry soils and partial shade to full sun exposure.
Armenian Blackberry it’s a common weed in fields, right-of-ways, savannas, meadows and forests. Although is cultivated for its berries on some states, on most states it’s considered a noxious weed. There has been confusion on plants origin and name.
