Meadow Barley Grass (Hordeum Brachyantherum) is a perennial grass in the True-grass Family (Poaceae). It’s native to Western North America and Northern Mexico. Blooms Mar-May and grows 3-4 ft. It’s commonly found in undisturbed and/or restored Wet Prairies, Meadows and Savannas. It tolerates moist to dry soils and full sun exposure.
Diploid cytotype occurs only in California, in other states plants are tetraploid.
