Pacific Hound’s Tongue (Cynoglossum Grande) is a perennial forb in the Borage Family (Boraginaceae). It’s native to Western North America. Blooms Mar-Jun and grows 2-3 ft. Commonly found in undisturbed and/or restored forests, savannas and chaparrals. Likes moist to dry soils and full shade to partial sun exposure.
Pacific Hound’s Tongue is a rare plant around civilization; much more common in undisturbed ecosystems. Not to be confused with weedy Houndstongue [Rats And Mice] (Cynoglossum Officinale).
