Beach Strawberry, also known as Coastal Strawberry and Chilean Strawberry (Fragaria Chiloensis) is an evergreen perennial forb in the Rose Family (Rosaceae). It’s native to Western North America and South America. Blooms Apr-Jun and grows up to 1 ft. Commonly found in beaches and seashores. Likes dry soils and full sun exposure.
This plant was hybridized with Wild Strawberry (Fragaria Virginiana) to create the well known Garden Strawberry (Fragaria x Ananassa).
